The National Theatre of London celebrates its 50th Anniversary with a star-studded event featuring the “who’s who” of British theatre from stage and screen, on Friday, Nov. 22. The Sedona International Film Festival hosts the big screen premiere of the gala celebration at its Mary D. Fisher Theatre. There will be two shows at 4:00 and 7:00 p.m.
To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the National Theatre of Great Britain presents “National Theatre: 50 Years on Stage”, bringing together the best British actors for a unique evening of unforgettable performances, broadcast from London to cinemas around the world, including the Mary D. Fisher Theatre here in Sedona.
A cast of 100 will perform live on stage in this once-in-a-lifetime event, directed by the National Theatre’s current Director Nicholas Hytner, including award-winning actors Judi Dench, Helen Mirren, Maggie Smith, Ralph Fiennes, Benedict Cumberbatch, Roger Allam, Simon Russell Beale, Frances de la Tour, Christopher Eccleston, Michael Gambon, Derek Jacobi, Alex Jennings, Rory Kinnear, Adrian Lester, Anna Maxwell Martin, Andrew Scott, Penelope Wilton, and many more.
Covering iconic productions from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead to The History Boys, from Antony and Cleopatra to Angels in America, from Guys and Dolls to London Road, this will be a thrilling evening of live performance and rare glimpses from the archive, bringing the history of the National Theatre to Sedona for one special evening.
“National Theatre: 50 Years on Stage” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Friday, Nov. 22 at 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15, or $12.50 for Film Festival members.
